Glen Ellen Fire Protection District

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Donations

The Glen Ellen Volunteer Fire Department was begun in 1923 staffed solely for the next 60 years by members of the community who donated their time and frequently their own money to purchase gear and equipment. Now a County Fire District it is still staffed primarily by volunteers and it is still supported by the generosity of the community at large.

The Glen Ellen Fire Protection District has three sources of income. The first source is from County funds which have recently been reduced by the decrease in property taxes.  Other funds which have been used to purchase fire and rescue equipment has come from grants written by Association members and other fundraising activities like the Silent Auction at the annual dance.

Glen Ellen Firefighters Association is a 501(C) non-profit corporation.  All donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.  A written receipt will be provided for all donations.
